VICTORIA'S 1987 PREMIER ISSUE for "Friends Sharing Tea"

For a long time I have wanted the
copy of the Premier issue of Victoria
and now I am so happy to have one!
I am passionate about all the older copies.

I found a very wide range of prices on
line for this first issue of Victoria and for me
the best priced one was on Etsy for $12.00
 - of course shipping was
another $10.00 from Canada but this
total cost was still so much less
than all the others I saw.

Really, the timing was perfect as I caught
the same naughty bug as some of you and have
been incognito for five days.  It was
perfect at this time to enjoy!

Don't those tarts look amazing!

When each month turns over I always have
to admire Edith Holden's art as well:

Oh YAY! I am so happy for you - oh weren't those older copies just to-die-for inspirational?

I think your pretty tea room needed that big time! ♥♥

Your Valentine's decor is looking pretty festive over there, lady!

OK, you probably got why I am linking this post twice - I kinda goofed this morning. Thanks for indulging me - but Marina's tea party deserves it. Thank you for hosting your wonderful linky parties, Bernideen! It's always a pleasure to be able to join in the fun.

Hugs.

Beautiful! I love Victoria magazine. They did go through a weird period when they were trying to be more of a general women's magazine, then they stopped publishing. I was so happy when Hoffman Media started to publish them again. They early years are treasures!

Sorry you were sick, we've managed to avoid illness so far.

I'm doing a tea post for tomorrow so I'll come back and link up!

So happy that you found the magazine that you had been looking for. And happy you had it when you were not feeling your best and had a little something to brighten your days. Hope you are feeling well soon. All your Valentine and February Decor is so beautiful. Always a pleasure to stop by and visit with you.

So glad you are feeling better and that you got your Victoria issue! It was hard to tell which photos were in the magazine and which one's were yours. :)
Your mantel looks so sweet! I really like the heart box with the red fru fru!
See you soon!

I caught the nasty bug before Christmas so I can sympathize with your bout of illness. Your charming Valentine's Day decor made me smile. I'll be putting up my decorations this weekend.

I am so happy you found a copy of that, Bernideen. I had a copy but have no idea where it went. I just gave a bunch of my Victoria magazines to a girl friend that loves them. I am so trying to downsize my magazine and book collection.

I love your sweet Valentine decorations. Things are looking very pretty at your home. xo Diana

How wonderful you found a premiere issue of Victoria. I have ordered older issues from eBay before. I always really enjoy thumbing through them. Thanks for sharing.

How pretty.

I have kept all of my past issues of Victoria magazine over the years, I still enjoy going back and looking at them. I remember how thrilled I was when the the magazine returned after they stopped publication for a while. It is a bit different now but still wonderful.

The older issues have so much more charm, in my opinion, although I do enjoy the new issues too. Glad you got the premiere issue.
I hope you feel better soon, Bernideen. It's very cold here these days. We're in the deep freeze and hopefully it won't last too long. I am not able to decorate for Valentines Day this year so I will enjoy looking at yours. As always your home is totally charming. Enjoy your weekend and thank you for hosting.

Hugs,
Sandi

Bernideen, since my current post is for Cabbage and Kale Salad with Creamy Sesame Seed Dressing - not exactly tea fare! - I linked an earlier post of a tasty tea sandwich. Congrats on getting that first issue of Victoria!

I hope you are feeling better! So glad you found the Victoria issue...a great companion when you aren't feeling the best. Had to laugh at Edith Wharton instead of Edith Holden...but I love her books too! Not always the most cheerful, but definitely period evocative. Thanks for hosting, and hope you are fully recovered to enjoy your marvelous Valentine decor!

I do love those old Victoria magazines sooooo much. I still have some of them, but gradually I have used them for art or given some away. I need a day just to sip tea and look at them again. Thanks for the reminder.

A lot of my inspiration came from these early issues of Victoria magazine. It was such fun to page through the magazine, chock full of beautiful photography, creative recipes, and endless ideas.
