AN OLD LADDER for BTTCG Blog Party

First of all I want to thank all of you who come and participate in my weekly blog party.  The variety of things shared has been great!

This morning, I went out in the garden to take a few photos.  Remember, this is a brand new garden and not a mature one!

This was not my original idea.  I saw Sherry's ladder (The Charm of Home) and copied her with a little whimsy to boot.  Last week we noticed the antique mall in Jefferson City had so many old ladders. And yes, I even planted a yellow climbing rose bush which will grow up the side.

Yes, we have bunnies now every day and they sure love to eat certain flowers like Shasta Daisys and Cone Flowers.

This is the Spirea bush (below) that was in front of the pond -
it survived being moved and now starting to bloom:

Right now there seems to be a lot of primitive garden items available in the antique and flea markets at very good prices.  The birdhouses I have found were real ones so they are much sturdier than the "craft" type ones for indoor decorating.

I hope you will link here at the bottom and share
your own posting related to tea, home or garden!

I will be sharing my post at:

Bernideen, what a sweet idea to have the birdhouses on the old ladder! I can't wait to see your roses climbing it. I simply love your garden! I wish I could have done all that years ago here but we are not allowed to have privacy fences so it kind of ruins the over all appearance of a garden without one. I am thankful for the grove of trees behind our house though because the bunnies and foxes live in there. The birds are always singing in the branches too and I'm sure going to miss it all when we leave this place. Another wonderful posting for us to enjoy, thank you. Happy Memorial Day!

Blessings,
Sandi

Your ladder is absolutely adorable, Bernideen! I love how we get inspiration from each other and through blogging. I can't wait to see how the Rose climbs up the ladder!! We have no plants in our backyard, just lawn. But still the bunnies like to sneak under the fence and explore the options. Why? I'm perplexed.

Oh Bernideen, everything about your new home is lovely! You have been so busy I can't believe it. Every time I come here you have something new and beautiful to show. What a lovely garden. And an adorable way to put up bird houses. What a bower those little birdies will have with yellow roses climbing around their front doors!
Love those bunnies, even if they do like to eat our flowers.

There is so much for the eye to see in your garden, yet it's so tranquil. I just love your ladder idea for displaying bird houses! Our home's previous owners left many birdhouses nailed to the fences. (Some have fallen off in storms.)The ladder idea brings some variety to the yard. Please send photos once the climbing rose gets established.
Thanks for hosting and enjoy the week ahead.

Your garden is lovely and it looks like it will be a garden that grows and matures gracefully with the lovely "bones" you've given it.

I love birdhouses, especially bird houses that could really house a bird family. You have some very nice bird houses .

I am hoping to get back into the swing of blogging. So much to write about, so much to see, so much to learn . Now I am going to check out the blogs that linked to this party.

So, so cute!

And, I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. I have several wooden birdhouses on the side fence that never get seen. Thanks to you, I am going to remove them and put them on my old ladder.

Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Bernideen, I love what you've done with your new garden. And I'm amazed at how quickly you've settled into your new home. Thank you so much for featuring my lemon curd. I served the last of it last night on slices of cake I made from my homemade cake mix. Froze one layer for another day and served the other, instead of making a layer cake that would have been too much.

Bernideen, I love your ladder! I am glad it inspired you when you saw mine. That ladder in my garden is 6 ft and that rose wasn't that big when it was placed there but now it has grown past the top of the ladder. That ladder was also my grandfather's which was really a fun way to use it to remember him by. Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!~

Hi Bernideen, nice to meet you! I found your blog through Carol of Art and Sand. Love your new garden area and how you used the ladder and birdhouses for decorating - so pretty and charming!

Hi Bernideen. Love the ladder and bird house idea. Sherri always has something interesting doesn't she? It is fun to be inspired and then put our own spin on a project. I am not posting right now, still focused on the writing course I am taking. I just finished plotting book 2 of what I plan to be a series. I had not written for pleasure in years when I started blogging. It primed the pump! Now I am happy to be working on the cozy mystery I always thought I 'had in me'. Anyway, I wanted to leave a word on your blog and say hi. I generally keep tabs on you on Facebook. haha Cheers!
