A NICOTINE FREE SMOKING CABINET for BTTCG Blog Party

I have been looking for a small table or something for a vase to go on my front entrance porch.  How about a smoking cabinet for a non smoker?  I remember these from back in the 50's-60's.  They were mass manufactured.  The little door opens for tobacco storage, pipes, etc.  I gave it a spray of paint and put it on the entrance porch.

I saw lots of these recently while on a day trip to Greenwood, Missouri and snagged one very reasonably.  It works really well and since my husband has allergies -
the bouquet can be on the porch.

I hope you can join me today for my Bernideen's Tea Time, Cottage and Garden Blog Party!

Good morning Bernideen.
I have never heard of a smoking cabinet before. You sure made this one beautiful in pink.
It looks very nice on your porch. Have a nice week and thanks for hosting this party. xo

Oh! How pretty everything looks,Bernideen. I still have my father's old smoking stand and I gave it to my son. It is a great old piece and quite ornate. xo Diana

Your entrance looks very welcoming, Bernideen. Those things wouldn't last five minutes here at my house because of the wind we have. I always have to hang a heavy wreath on the front door or off it blows with the first gust. I really like the little bird bath filled with flowers; really sweet! The bench is nice too. Thank you for hosting and I trust you have had a lovely Memorial Day weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Oh, how CUTE! You know what you should do also? Go to Hobby Lobby or some craft place and get a wooden applique to put on the front - maybe paint it white and give it some dimension with some light shaded wax or gilding.

I have always wondered what those little cute tables were for; thought either a little phone table and to put phone book and paper and pens inside, or even (gasp) for chamber pots..........had no idea how old they were or anything.

I love those little tables and ADORE the color you painted it.

Well done, once again, dear friend. Hugs.

My parents had one of those cabinets, Bernideen, and when I go back to visit my mom next month, I'm going to look in the basement for it. I always loved it because of its size.
Your porch looks absolutely charming wth all your special decor. The bench is darling and now I want a birdbath to fill with flowers! I love your style. Thanks for hosting and sharing with us! Happy Memorial Day!

What a cute table! The pretty pink colour made me smile. I'm also loving the birdbath repurposed as a flower planter. I may have to borrow that idea! Thank you for hosting and have a wonderful week!

Hi Bernideen,
I must apologize for not participating in your Tea in the Garden on Friday. I thought my post was ready but when I looked it over some of the pics were not good and since I was having company for dinner Friday I was busy rushing. So I am posting it today. I adore your sweet pink smoker's table. I have two of them and they do hold some teacups nicely. Lol. Yours looks perfect on your deck. Thank you so much for hosting BTTCG. Blessings, Karen

I had no idea what a smoker's cabinet looked like. I love what you did to it - it looks so charming on your front porch!
On another note, I don't think my comments - or my submission of a recipe - go through when I chose the 'identity' of WordPress, so I'm going back to commenting using my Google account. And I hope you see this! (I'm going to resubmit my recipe for Coconut Joy Cream cheese Bars with Chocolate Wafer Crust. I hope it gets to you!!

Great job on the tobacco cabinet - my family had one or two of those and I don't think anyone ever painted one! So cute on the porch! I love architecture and especially enjoyed the visit to the small towns and the houses. Thanks for hosting also!
