HOME IN MISSOURI for BTTCG Blog Party

Several months ago I was contacted by Gina from (Victorian Wanna Be) and I was thrilled when she told me she lived in Columbia, Missouri.  She stopped by this week to say hello.  We were invited to her church and so yesterday we attended Easter Sunday at Forum Christian Church.  It was a lovely celebration of of the resurrection of Jesus and what a difference his resurrection means for each of us!
I hope you had a blessed Easter.
This was the lovely tulip that Gina gifted
us with when she paid a visit.  I also look
forward to meeting Janice who also lives here
and blogs at Curtains In My Tree!

Today is my weekly Bernideen's Tea Time, Cottage
and Garden Blog Party.  I am sharing some
photos of our new home - well not really
new (16 years old) but new to us.

I am so happy to be HOME and getting settled each and every day!  Seems like we just keep "putting things together:

beds, shelves, furniture, tables - you name it!  Even though I have

been so busy unpacking, I still wanted to put

some Easter Decorations out.  I guess this is

because I already missed decorating for

Valentines and St. Patrick's Day!

I think I will leave my Easter things up for a while.

This wash stand (below) was in a bedroom
before but is now in the entrance foyer.

We have messes everywhere but I can
 show you my armoire which
is now in the kitchen between
2 doorways going into the Great Room. This
kitchen has an area for a table by the glass
sliding doors onto the deck and then another small dining area
with a fireplace but I am going to use that area
as a "Victorian Parlor" for my antique sofa. I will
show you more about that later.

Every time I took a photo here I was trying to
avoid a hammer, power drill, picture not
hung up yet, wall clocks on the floor, etc.
I did get out some violet and pansy pieces to display:

We marked every box that was packed by putting a label on the box which identified the room it was to be taken to and also a simple idea of was in the box.  I have never moved this way before and so as I am unpacking, it has made for better organization.  I think I told you my hubby is a really good packer.....so far......no teacups broken!

My kitchen cupboards are maple and
I really wanted white but may just live with these.

I wish I could show you more but everywhere I
look there are things to be hung and put together.
  I know you will understand.

There are little shelves on each side of
the kitchen window.  I love the
big beautiful mature trees in the back of the yard.

I am so enjoying all the wildlife, birds and everything green here!  It is still chilly and yes - rained for Easter!
This is a deck off the kitchen:

I have some new friends in the back yard
that come out
 every morning and evening:

I will be joining other blog parties today.
I am sorry I couldn't do that last week. The
special featured posts from this party will be
shared on Saturday morning.

I will be joining:

Please join me by linking below!
I have moved over one time zone so I
may be one hour earlier for some of you!

Dear Bernideen,
Your home looks charming already and you have beautiful windows and views! The colours on the walls look almost like mine in the dining and kitchen. I see some silver/pale blue carpet too which is what we have in two of our rooms. We are facing a move too down the road. I'm sure you will be very happy in your new home. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.

Blessings,
Sandi

I meant to tell you we had a bunny rabbit in our yard yesterday. He's still white and he seems to like our pine trees right outside our side door so we get a really good look at him. Every time I grab the camera he sees me though and hops off.

Bernideen, you sure settle in quickly! You must have tons of energy! Love the windows by the dining table (and everything else!).

Oh, my! What a lovely home you have! And, I was just thinking about how wonderful it is that your beautiful things survived the move with nothing being broken! You must be an excellent packer! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us here, and I wish you blessings as you unpack and get settled. Moving is never easy, but you have certainly arrived in a beautiful place!

Hi Bernideen! How exciting to see your new home! And how fun you have blogger friends near! Your home looks wonderful! We have packed and moved several times, and learned early on to label to boxes with what room and contents and even an inventory, which really helps! So glad you are getting settled, and it looks wonderful! Thanks for hosting!

Dear Bernideen, to me it is amazing how much you have settled into your new house already. You got so much done in such a short time!
I really like your kitchen and dining room area, as it is so nice and bright. Since you mentioned that you wanted a white kitchen, have you thought about painting the maple wood? That should work just fine.
Wishing you much joy furnishing and decorating your new home!
Warm regards,
Christina

Hi Bernideen,
Oh your new home really is lovely! I especially like the large kitchen with it's large windows overlooking your gorgeous deck. How beautiful to look out there and see the trees, bunnies and birds. You must be so busy unpacking and tired too. I can't wait to see the rest of your home. That is wonderful that you went to church with Gina yesterday too. Thank you hosting BTTCG and I hope you had a perfect Easter! Karen

I am so glad to see that none of your tea things were broken. That was a concern of mine as I consider downsizing and moving to another region on the east coast. I have a lot of breakables, but seeing that yours made it okay, gives me hope! God bless you in your "new" home!

It is so fun to see you settling in at your new home, and how wonderful that you've already made some new friends there! I love that everything *already* looks so inviting and cozy at your house, and I know it will be even more so in the days to come. Now, if only I can get myself to start thinking of you as "Bernideen from Missouri" instead of "Bernideen from Colorado." Old habits die hard!

Bernideen,
I am hanging my head in shame for not linking up to your party sooner. I misunderstood and thought that is was a Tea Party only. Stupid me!!
Your beautiful shelves drew me here! Stunning!! Congrats on your"new" home and how wonderful that you were able to meet up with Gina!!
The shelves on the kitchen cabinets remindedme of the Kitchen in my parents home and I love how you dressed them up!! Charming. Thanks for hosting and now that the light bulb went off in my brain, I will be back weekly!!
Hugs,
Deb

Hi Bernideen ~ I couldn't resist coming back and linking my current post when I thought of all the Brits who might be having what they call "Spag Bol" (spaghetti Bolognese) for their "tea" -- high tea, that is, not dainty afternoon tea. :-) Hope you don't mind!
