2016 "THE WORLD MOVES ON AND WE MUST MOVE ON WITH IT"!

This will be a year of change for my husband and I as
we make our last move to be near family for retirement.
We have lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for 22 years.
In 2016 we will be moving to Columbia, Missouri to
be near our son, daughter in law and two grandchildren.
We are excited and trying to "Keep Calm and Carry On"!

Early in 2015,  Jann Olson inspired me (link) with her fun New Year's Mantle so during the year as I went to various flea markets, antique malls and out door park vintage market events, I watched for old windup clocks to do my own mantle display.  I saw more in my journeys but price was always part of the criteria.  I also wanted a glittery "Happy New Year" sign but never saw one I liked.

Please don't ask the time though as it could get a little confusing.  Well actually, take your pick!

Lady Mary said it well,
"The world moves on and we must move on with it."

Happy New Year, Bernideen! Love the fun New Year's Mantle and your display of vintage wind-up clocks! In the words of Chicago, "Does anybody really know what time it is?"

I remember you saying that you were inspired by Jann's clock display and your New Year's Eve mantle turned out great! It must've been fun to be on the lookout for clocks to collect. Happy New Year to you and your hubby!

What a fun New Years mantel Bernideen! I like your antique mantel clock and your cruet set and the teapot on its base. Is it a tilting one?

Beautiful mantle!! I hope you like living in Columbia. Our family are MIZZOU Tigers and visit there often. Our two children will be graduation from there this year. If you need some delicious frozen custard, may I suggest Randy's Frozen Custard? 😄 My nephew owns it now and is on the south west side of town. CoMo has a lot to offer. Best of luck with the move! Keep us updated!

Oh, I was hoping you would share it at SYC. I think it is just delightful Bernideen! Love the clocks you used and I get the not knowing what time it is. Many of mine didn't work, but who cares when they have such charm? Love Mary's quote and can't wait for Downton to start! Wishing you lots of luck with your new adventure. We lived in our previous home for 22 years, but we just moved 5 min. away. Happy New Year sweet friend!
hugs,
Jann
