ENGLISH RED TRANSFERWARE for "Tea In The Garden"

Happy Monday morning to all my blogging friends!

Today I am sharing some of the red transferware I have been collecting in several patterns.  I pick up a piece here or there when the price and quality are right.  I don't mind pieces with crazing but not so much the ones with brown stains.  I also saw a whole bunch at an antique mall but it was all chipped and stained so I passed it up.

I ordered my first (and maybe last) piece on on Etsy.  It was listed as red transferware.  When It arrived it was dark pink (not shown here) and lovely but really did not match the red.  I was disappointed that the lady listed it as red as I would have called it pink.   I am sure many of you have stories to tell too.  I will keep looking and use this coffee pot for tea!

My favorite patterns in red are Mason's "Vista", Spode "Tower" and I also love  Enoch Woods "English Scenery".  As you can see I was out in the garden early as the sun was rising.

Last year we moved the bird house to the other side of our yard.  I am happy to see the Clematis beginning to climb back up it.  I hope you have a wonderful summer week!

I would love to have you join in my "Tea In The Garden" blog party at the bottom - I will also be sharing at:

Oh how beautiful- Bernideen your lighting, composition, china, garden - just wows me today! Thank you for hosting. I can finally join in the fun again!

You know - years ago I did that: sold a dark pink as red transferware on line. I felt horrible, it was way before I knew anything about it and it looked read to my soft pink/beige/white universe, haha. I offered to return it but she said once her husband bought her roses and she used as a vase she was all happy. But I have been extra careful since then.

Have a blessed wonderful week, hugs. ♥

Oh, Bernideen, I am absolutely swooning over your tea in the garden! LOVE your red transferware because as you know, it is my favourite! I do love the Mason's Vista too and wish I had more pieces of it but I am happy to have collected the pieces I do have as the red is very scarce around here. What a beautiful setting and I would love to join you! Thank you for hosting and linking up with me for Tea Time. Have a beautiful day, my friend.

Blessings,
Sandi

I sooo love your garden settings for tea, Bernideen. I hope when you move to Missouri, you find a yard as pretty and charming as the one you have now. I'm sure you'll make it your own. Red transferware is a favorite of mine. I've been using the ones I have for Independence Day. Your pieces are so pretty, but what a disappointment on the pink piece that you received.
Thanks for hosting your party and have an enjoyable week.

So lovely, the transferware, the flowers, the cloth, the garden and the sun, the perfect setting for a nice cup of tea.

You have such a nice collection of red transferware! I just started collecting and I have one teacup from Ridgway. All of your patterns complement one another so well. Your teapot as a vase looks so lovely. Sorry to hear you had a negative etsy experience. So far I've had all positive experiences with the etsy sellers. Love your bird bath in the background.
Have a nice week and enjoy the sunshine,
Nora

I suppose mix and match comes to mind, but definitely disappointing if you were expecting a different colour.
So nice to see your tea table out in the garden again along with your bunny friends Bernideen.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

Your red transferwares are lovely, Bernideen.

How disappointing that your Etsy purchase turned out to be the wrong colour. I enjoy browsing for teawares on Ebay and Etsy, but I've never made a purchase because of the high shipping fees.

Such a beautiful summer morning! Your red collection is delightful. I am not much for online buying either. I've never done Etsy at all. I guess I have to see it for myself. Looks like you are having some beautiful days!

Your garden is very pretty... and your transferware tea set are beautiful, I'm sorry about the pink pieces that you ordered from Etsy. It's not fun being disappointed like that. But I do hope that you will find what you are looking for one of these days :-)

I am beginning to really appreciate the red and white transferware. You have lovely pieces. Too bad about your etsy story. I am assuming you were unable to return.

I do have a weakness for red transferware and your collection is just lovely. I did find a teapot on etsy about a year ago and happy with it.

What a beautiful garden vignette! And I'm not sure I would have known that some "red" transferware could be more on the pink side, so I appreciate the caution.

Bernideen, so far I've resisted the lure of English red transferware, simply because I don't know where I'd put more dishes! But these photos in your garden have me searching out cupboard space!

I love that rabbit in your garden!! He's so charming.
