GETTING SHABBY CHIC FURNITURE TO WORK FOR FALL

One of the things I have been trying to figure out is how to marry shabby chic pink with fall colors.  I have a buffet in my kitchen and since last year I picked up some of those fun English and Japanese Cottage tea time pieces:

The center piece is an English lidded biscuit box without it's handle and at the right is a Kensington Price English teapot.  The one on the left above is from Japan.  I didn't pay much for any although I have seen some that were very expensive so I passed them buy.  In order to make this work - I had to change some of those plates on the wall and I need to hunt for a more fallish picture to replace my pink rose picture that I am hiding here.

I am using lots of beige lacey doilies in various shades.

Some fall looking cups and saucers:

Lastly, I'm sharing my funny Pumpkin Lady I found at a bargain price while antiquing.  She was made in Italy for Neiman Marcus.

The one from Japan here below:

I hope you have fun decorating for fall too!

Hi Bernideen, I love how you are decorating for fall using your transferware dishes and darling cottages. It all looks so pretty and refreshing with your soft whites and pastels. I always enjoy seeing what you do with all your beautiful china for season changes!

I love your Fall buffet, Bernideen. The cottages with the lace pumpkin look so well together. Did you make the pumpkin? I also love the different shades of doilies to compliment it all. I have a cottage teapot like yours, that belonged to my Mom. I need a thatched lid, however, because she gave me the sugar lid and it doesn't fit.

That just goes to show you that shabby chic can be "fallish" too! Your little cottages are so cute!
