MY COLLECTION OF COOK BOOKS AND TEA BOOKS

The past few weeks we have taken on several projects.
I haven't had as much time to post on my blog.

For some time I have lived with my tea books just stacked on the floor in the bedroom and cookbooks down in the basement and not very conveniently handy.   Well, after some switching things around and trading out some store displayers I have finally gotten my own 3 bookshelves for them. I am like a little kid in a candy shop!

My husband was busy earlier this week painting all three shelves with Vintage White CeCe Caldwell Chalk Paint. Of course it always takes longer to do these projects than you think it is going too! After you paint them they are waxed.  The more pieces and parts - the longer it takes.  I am excited to be organized again.  Don't you just love it when you can find what you're looking for?  In 47 years of marriage this is the first time I had nice shelves for my own cookbooks, garden books, tea books, etc.

I have grouped the books together according to topic and have garden and decorating books together too.  I am going to love just being able to walk up and actually find the one I'm looking for!

I have some seasonal cookbooks just for Thanksgiving and Christmas and have room for them now on these shelves.  This is wonderful.  Goody - goody - goody!  Can you tell how excited I am?  Of course - now I have no excuse:  What's for dinner?

Looks good - I like when you can find something your looking for instead of spending hours looking all over for it.
Your husband did a great job on your bookcase. Now you have everything at your finger tips.
Have a great week.

Oh, my goodness, how very jealous I am! I have the same problem with books stacked here, there, and everywhere. My dad brought over two bookshelves right around Christmas, but I really need another. Yours look so nice and neat ... and I do believe there's room for even more books! Perfect!

Oh my, Bernideen, you have such a fantastic collection of books! What a great idea to have them displayed on the shelves, right at your finger tips. Have a lovely day and I hope your snow is all gone!

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Bernideen,
I love your new shelves. It is so great to be organized and what a collection of beautiful books you have. I am also painting furniture with chalk paint and on sunny days I take my projects outside and they seem to dry more quickly. Your hubby is awesome to help you.
Have a wonderful week! Karen

Ooh Bernideen, your shelves are just wonderful and will make it so easy for you to find what you need. What a sweet hubby to paint them for you. One of these days I'm going to try the chalk paint and do a project.

With all those beautiful books, you really needed a place for them. I'd be thrilled, too! Your husband did a wonderful job with the painting...the shelves look beautiful.

The organized books look great Bernideen. Can I come for tea and poke through the shelves?

Though I have book shelves for my cookbooks and tea books, they are still crammed. How lovely and very exciting to have all that space in one place. I would be beside myself with glee, as I can imagine you are.

OH- That is SO nice, Bernideen~ I love the space you have there and the bookshelves themselves look great. I just took a small bookcase that my daughter discarded and put it in my little sitting room and filled it with the gardening books I love best.

What a joy for you to have ALL those books right at your fingertips! xo Diana

Good job on the organizing. In my past two houses I have had bookcases in my kitchen for my cookbooks. But my tea books seem to need to find another home. Usually mixed with assorted and sundry!

You have a lot of books, Bernideen. Love your new book shelves - so pretty and so functional. Loved seeing your garden too. It looks very pretty!

I also have a large cookbook and tea book collection on its own book case! I need a larger one (like yours!!) These are like treasures to me. I sadly no longer loan out my books to coworkers etc. I will copy a recipe, but some just didn't make their way back to me. Only one is out of print, so that is sadly gone. Do you have a favorite?
