SEWING AWAY WITH VINTAGE LINENS

It's been a busy week - mostly for me I've been in the basement sewing,  These are not my linens but rather ones I have purchased inexpensively at flea markets and antique malls.

I have been sewing some tote bags for my shop.  All of these have vintage buttons.  They are made out of vintage linens and fabrics.  Some of the fabrics are repurposed bed linens, denim and new paris fabric.  The purse below has a hand embroidered vintage runner cut up, vintage button and embellished with crochet piece.

These three below - left to right
The one on the left is made from an Irish Tea Towel, Middle one has new Paris fabric with an vintage potholder dress and the one on the right is a repurposed bed cover cut up with a vintage doily on the front:

Here is a closed up of the Paris one below:

More tote bags below made from vintage linens:

Another tote bag which has this embroidery on both sides:

I hope I have inspired someone to get busy and use those old linens and fabric!  If anyone is interested in purchasing any of these:  Bernideen's In Historic Old Colorado City

Not I! I am far too nervous, but I love the way you have incorporated the vintage linens and the lovely fabrics. You are very talented.

I adore these! You are so talented and creative. I just don't have patience or steady hands to sew any longer but I sure do enjoy you sharing your pretties.

You have given me some great ideas, especially the last one with the horses is a beauty.

What a great idea for using those vintage linens. They're very pretty, and I'm sure they'll sell well for you.

I was looking a your blog which is in a different format. I wanted to comment but it was asking me to change my format so I will just comment here. I love the cup and saucer in a prior post - looks hand painted English - my favorites are the hand painted ones!

So pretty Bernideen! Do you sell your totes? We just finished my daughter's room in a Paris theme and that Paris tote would be perfect in there! ;)

These are gorgeous. I love to buy old vintage linens but don't usually make anything with them. This is a great idea! I love them all! Hugs!

I am love with these bags. I must check out the linens in my shop and see what I can make. Probably don't have any many really great ones as you have though.
