TRYING NOT TO HURRY SPRING for "Friends Sharing Tea"

Here in Colorado I know how winter works.  It will be here for quite a while.  Actually, many of you will be showing daffodils and tulips in your gardens and we will still have snow coming so I must be prepared for that.   First I want to show you the Hawks that were sitting behind  our house  yesterday morning - watching the squirrels.  As you can see it was foggy in the morning and they live just a few trees down way up above the green belt.

This was the other one below and they sat there for an hour watching the squirrels and I was surprised they didn't go for one.

I am a person who gets rather restless in winter but I have found that a good way to cope is have plenty of books on hand and also spend time learning new things.  This winter I have done quite a bit of sewing which I have shared on this blog.  I brought home some boxes to reorganize my sewing so I could find things better.  I love things organized.  Will you join me here for a cup of tea? I have an old vintage topper here on my kitchen table to share:

I have a lot of reading going on at one time as I have been reading "A Fine Romance" by Susan Branch.  At times I can hardly put it down but have to remember I have work to do so it is taking me a while to read it! I think she has delightful personality which brings great fun to the book.  I love it that she is so down to earth, friendly and practical.

I also got a copy of the "Unofficial Downton Abbey Cookbook" for my birthday which is also delightful.  There are no pictures but the information is very interesting if you are a Downton Abbey Fan.  If you have been watching PBS you are now through the entire season 4.  Now we wait and wait and wait!

It's time for "Friends Sharing Tea" which means that I would love to have you join me by posting something from your blog about tea and linking here at the bottom and including a link to me on your posting.  I hope you week is splendid.

The third person to link below is KITTY AT KITTY'S KOZY KITCHEN and she turned 65 today 2-24-2014.  Please go wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY as she loss her husband a while back and is facing this birthday without him!  Thank you!

I too love to read. I love Susan Branch things as well. I have several of her calendar books. And I could not decide which tea cup I liked best. They are both lovely.

Hi Bernideen. I love your teacups, especially the Serena. I have read the Susan Branch book...very nostalgic, having gone to the UK several times on the QM2 and visited many of the places she writes about. Sigh...I loved the book! Thanks for hosting and linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Love that hawk! I so enjoyed A Fine Romance and Dear and I are planning another trip to England in July so I will re-read her book before we go. Your table and tea cups are beautiful.

Beautiful tea cups and I can not agree more about the wait, wait, wait that it will be until we next see DA. I also agree with your critique of A Fine Romance.

What a lovely visit, Bernideen. I would love to curl up with a copy of the Susan Branch book. Wonderful teacups and I'm especially loving the Serena. I have one but not this one. Your table covering is lovely too. Thank you for hosting and joining me for tea.

You always have a pretty tea table for us each week Bernideen and the topper is very nice. I recall in the past how you were still getting snow when ours was all gone so reading and sewing seem like good ways to spend your time while waiting for spring.
I have Kitty's birthday on my calendar to send a card but didn't realize she was 65 this year.

Susan Branch's book is so much fun and perfect reading with a cup of tea. Beautiful teacups and teapot. Especially lovely on the embroidered linens. Thanks so much for hosting and Happy Tea Day!

Dear Bernideen,
the more it looks outside cold and foggy, the more we enjoy the sweet te time inside. The hawks look really unpleased. Poor guys. I remember that you last year had so much snow at a time, we has already spring. I hope you will not have such a long winter again. Your tea time looks very inviting. I love the mix and match china and so nice to see new books. Thank you for this wonderful tea time (and the tipp of Kitt'y birthday) and for hosting this event.
Best greetings, Johanna

HI Bernideen,
I am so anxious for spring too. It was sunny but cold when I took my pics last week and then yesterday and today we have snow! Your teacups are gorgeous today and oh my, that teapot makes me weak! I love it's beauty! Thank you for hosting Friends Sharing Tea. Have a wonderful week. Karen

Oh, yes - hawks and lovely teacups, Downton Abbey and A Fine Romance - just a few of my favorite things! Very enjoyable post, Bernideen - and I love A Fine Romance, too. Living my English countryside vacation vicariously.

Joy!

Those are two lovely, lovely cups Bernideen and I can see how they take the winter chill away. We've had some dynamite crazy weather here in the Pacific. There's snow on the ground! I doubt it will last past a day or two, but still, winter is here no matter what we may think. Hope your week is shaping up to be a lovely one. Big hugs. :)

I had the same reaction to the Susan Branch book that you did! She came across as so very likeable and someone I'd really enjoy meeting. Plus, I think the design of her book is truly unique -- great fun to read and visually fetching as well!

I just ordered the Susan Branch book, and am so looking forward to reading it. We will have winter for quite awhile yet, too. I saw my first hawk closeup this winter. I thought it was beautiful! Thank you for hosting and sharing your pretty tea table.

I enjoy seeing the different birds living in the area too. Such a treat to see them soar around the yard.
Your tea time today is lovely! I am with you on the beautiful vintage table cover! This one is so wonderful too! I am always interested to see the vintage tablecloths you use. Your tea cups are all beauties. Tea and a good book is about the best way to have a relaxing moment.
Hugs,
Terri

Happy Birthday to Kitty!
Always love hawk spottings.
The table topper is gorgeous, one I have a weakness for.
Love the cups.
And oh you are reading one of my recent all time favorite books. Savor every moment as you walk through the rest of winter.
