MY FRIEND for "Tea In The Garden"

Each week I look forward to my "Tea In The Garden" blog party and this week I have a special friend who agreed to pose for me. This is the first time in 10 years that my friend Lou Ann has visited with her husband.  We have had a great time.

Lou Ann and I met a long time ago when I went to a small Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa.  I was 17 years old and she had just been married a couple months before. We became great friends and 2 years later she and her husband were in my wedding.  That was just a few years ago - 1968!

I set up a little tea vignette out under the tree quickly as showers were threatening any moment.  Do you see my new topper that I found this week when I took my friend down to Florence, Colorado to all the antique shops?  It has pink baskets appliqued on it with embroidery and yellow butterflies.  I guess you would call the shape of the topper a scalloped square.  I think it is very fun.

My friend was tucked under the tree so even if it did rain -
she would not have gotten wet.  Yes, it did finally rain.

I have been cooking up a storm and last night I made a chocolate pie - like the Bishops Chocolate Pie.  It has been fun to have more people to cook for!

Most of the pieces I am sharing today are English.  I do love the yellow depression glass cream and sugar that my Grandmother gave me back in the late 70's.  You might also notice the Victorian Plant Stand I had shared before with the china pieces on the top and lower area.  Remember it was dark before when I shared it and now it is painted shabby chic.  I really like it better!

I hope this will be a great week for you and if you have something to share about tea - really anything about tea and especially
 Tea In The Garden,
on your porch, sunroom or patio - just link below!

Oh Bernideen,
Your friend is so lovely in your garden! Her dress is perfect and I love her hat, parasol(spelling?) and fan. She looks beautiful. Your teapot is my absolute favourite one (the rosy chintz one) - how I would love that. Your newest table topper is so dainty and sweet. I love your BlogSpot. It always makes me smile. Thanks for hosting such a fun party! Have a wonderful week! Take care,
Karen

Hi Bernideen,
I am glad Lou Ann posed for you and what a lovely picture she makes too, holding her parasol! I love the teapot and the pretty table it is sitting on. Of course the pot she is holding is my favourite! I know you both enjoyed your visit and it's so much fun to spend time with a cherished friend. Thank you for sharing and joining me for tea. Have a lovely Summer!

Blessings,
Sandi

How nice for your friend to agree to your photo shoot! Everything looks so inviting and I adore the mosaic top on your table ~ You obviously spent lots of hours working in your garden! If you don't mind, I will just have a small sliver of the chocolate pie :) Judi

Always such a lovely and lush garden tea with Bernideen! Your friend looks made for such a setting and all your lovelies are perfectly chosen for the event. Sorry about the rain - but - sometimes a soft summer rain is just as relaxing as tea with old friends in the garden.
Joy!

I just came across this post. I don't know how I missed it before. I love this header picture of Lou Ann holding the fan and parasol. May I have your permission to make a copy of it? At one time I owned a business in a mall across from a photographer. Since I rented tuxedos and he shot photos of young men for their senior pictures, we worked together quite often. At one point he had a photo he had taken of two little girls having a tea party. I told him I would love to buy a copy of it. He received permission from the family, and I have loved my little girl's tea party ever since.

That would be fine if it is for personal use!
