FIRST COMES THE MESS for "Open House"

We have had quite a mess at our house the last few days.  You know that before the finished project there is always a mess.  Night before last we had to empty the refrigerator to get ready to move it.  I am so glad I have an extra refrigerator in our garage.  Then we had to move the kitchen furniture into the den and empty several closets out.  You know this routine - we are getting new flooring in the kitchen and 3 bathrooms.

We have recently painted quite a bit of large and small furniture, picture frames and mirrors on the downstairs level of our house.  We still have the dining room table and 6 chairs to paint and then - we will start on some of the upstairs furniture.  In another week, company is coming,  so now it is time to put some casseroles, etc in the freezer so they just need to be thawed and heated.  I am sure your summertime is full of business too!

Last week there were some great links for Open House that featured tablesettings that I would like to feature:

The first one was Just A Little Southern Hospitality and her wonderful Lazy Days of Summer table setting below:

The second one is clever Penny who always
has wonderful ideas at Penny's Vintage Home:

The third featured post is a perfect 4th of July Table Setting by Sarah at Hyacinth's For The Soul:

I will be sharing this post at:
HOME with Sandi
Home and Garden Thursday

The truth is all the links were fabulous so please join me again today and share something about your home, garden, cooking, crafts, DIY, Cleaning Tips, food, etc.  Just link here and please have a link back to me on your post!

Just last night we rehung our front door after repainting it RED over the weekend. It took forever for the paint to dry.

Fortunately, we have a glass door, so we could use the air conditioning. You will definitely need an air conditioner when you move to Missouri!

Blessings from Harvest Lane Cottage,
Laura

The mirrors came out pretty.

You are going to be busy. That's a lot to accomplish in a few days! Best wishes.

Very nice! I wouldn't have thought of incorporating blue transferware with Fourth of July decor like that, but I sure do like it!

I envy your newly decorated and redone house but not the mess and work to get it! I love coming to look at all your pretty things. The featured bloggers are all so pretty too and I do like the blue with the red for the fourth of July! Thanks for sharing! Nancy

Hi Bernideen!
I don't know what happened. Your blog disappeared from my blog list. I don't know how long it's been gone. Did you change your address?
Your picture frames look great and I was thinking of painting one of my antique ones. It's so dark. Thank you for hosting and visiting me.

Yes Clara - I have a new address after some of us were pirated a while back. Here it is http://blog.bernideens.com
You will need to change it in your links to favorites (probably the last one you had was the clock one)

Oh what a lot of work! Ellen at Happy Wonderer is in the middle of this process, too. I'm sure it will be worth the effort!

Lots of work, but it will be well worth it.

Oh I always make messes when I change seasonal décor. Started putting away my bird décor and pulling out 4th of July. In between I am hopping downstairs and decorating. Too much to do and not enough time. I feel as though I have messes everywhere right now. Thanks for letting us share at Open House!
hugs,
Jann
