FINDING COMFORT IN GOULASH for "Open House"

Last night I was driving home from work - hungry.  The traffic was crazy and I began to crave GOULASH.  Yes, goulash is a good thing and it is an American institution.  So, a quick stop at the market for ground beef and I was home in the kitchen in no time.

depression glass out there and frankly I can't tell the difference.

Great minds think alike! I made Goulash recently too. My recipe uses red peppers instead of green and some finely chopped celery a little sprinkle of thyme or basil. What is the soup you use? That might be what's really different. It was funny, when we ate for dinner, we were exclaiming, this is so good...why haven't we made this in a long time? Really I know it's because of the pasta...but oh it was comfort food for sure.

p.s. I linked up earlier...and it's not showing. I hope you aren't wrestling with a linky issue. I don't enjoy technical difficulties and I bet your don't either.

Hello Bernideen, I so appreciate you featuring my Rose Water Jelly - I do love it! I was so hungry last night waiting for Dearest to come home - late! I am sure if I told him I was having your goulash, he'd drop all he was doing and come over - we had fish and grits :)

What a delicious post, Bernideen! I am so happy you have featured my Banana Mallow pie! It really is yummy. Would love to sit and enjoy some of your goulash & salad on those pretty pink plates. Oh Bernideen! My mom used to make goulash, I haven't had it in years! I was a vegetarian from 1975 till 1998, a good chunk of my life - but doctor's orders said I wasn't getting enough protein so start eating meat I did. I don't eat much, but I would definately eat this yummy recipe!

It's cold and rainy here today, think I may have to make that soon, thanks!
