TIME FOR SHABBY CHANGE FOR ARMOIRE for "Open House"

I am loving the changes we have been making at our home turning many antiques from dark woods to Vintage White and Portland Rose.  My friend who passed last year had sold me an armoire many years ago and it has been in a guest room holding my books.  After seeing this really neat photo on line at The Painted Cottage's March Cottage Feature (scroll down a little ways) I really got inspired to change our armoire by asking my husband to get rid of the doors and center post and open it up as a china shelf piece.  Here is the new look which is the second large piece we have done in Cece Caldwell's Portland Rose over Vintage White!  What do you think?

I tried not to put so much "little stuff" here. You know I am bad about that. We are selling the mahogany hutch that was here before - so that has been moved out.

This was before:

Tuesday we had a blizzard day with just a little snow but 50 mile an hour winds.  We fired up our woodstove and my husband worked all day on the armoire.  I made the white pillows with pink roses for the living area by cutting up an old twin crochet bedspread. I found an old sheet to cut up for the backing and pulled the stuffing out of some old pillows.   I made 4 pillows and a throw.  The other quilted pillows are  from my store.  This is an attempt to "tone down" my green
Victorian sofa that I won't be changing now.  What do you think?

Today is Open House which means if you are a blogger,  you are invited to link something regarding your Love of Home:  cooking, DIY, baking, sewing, scrap booking, crafts, garden...anything about home.  Just link here at the bottom and please include a link here on your post as well.

Hi Bernideen,
Thanks for the comment. Those macaroons or macarons were very labor intensive. My granddaughters and sweetheart loved them and want me to make more. LOL I followed the recipe out of the Tea Time magazine and it was one page long. I will put it in my printable recipes if there is enough request for it. I love coming to your parties almost every week. Thanks again.

I love the shabby chic changes you are making to your beautiful home. The newly redone armoire is just perfect for your footed cake plates that are often difficult to store.
The new accent pillows that you made are lovely.

Bernideen, it looks wonderful It really off sets your pretty china and glassware and I love the pillows on the sofa, they really soften it so it blends in better, although I do like the fabric.

Love the hutch! Turned out really nice! The pillows are lovely and I think they do tone down the green. The white coffee table and tablecloths on the round table also help to tone it down I think. Love the coffee table and your display on it. Drooling and wishing my house was shabby chic! Great job using what you had to make the pillows! Nancy http:/cozythymecottage.blogspot.com/

Oh Bernideen, it is so exciting to see you changing things up and prettifying your precious spaces.

It was always classy and pretty but sometimes a gal just needs to change.

I am in a change mode too right now and everything is stacked or put up and it's driving me crazy having it this way- can't even get to any of my tea items, they're all packed...ugh...having withdrawl!

Keep up the good work and hug that awesome hubs of yours. It takes a real man to paint something pink. I love him for that!

Have a great weekend! Big hugs.

I really love that way your cabinet came out ~ I love the color & your collection inside is beautiful, love the cake pedestals. I have been hearing so much lately on blogs about Cece Caldwell paint, it is much different than the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint? (besides the name)
Have a wonderful weekend,
Cheryl
