STRAWBERRY DOILY

Good Monday Morning...

I thought I would "start out" my week by sharing this cute strawberry doily I recently found.  Please don't ask me why I am attracted to old doilies....I JUST AM.

It looks like this is the new blog design I will be living with - after my "overly adventurous changes" I made yesterday.  I guess in the end I did learn a little more after it was all over.  So I have a new look - for the moment.

I will be linking to: Tea Time Tuesday and also A Delightsome Life and Tuesday Cuppa Tea and Tea Cup Tuesday and be sure and enter my drawing if you like below.

BYA:  The Chocolate Set above is Bavarian!

What a pretty doily. Love vintage doilies and linens. Also like the soft pink color of the background on your blog.

Sooo beautiful Bernideen!... both your china and your vintage doily... I love vintage doilies too and have many my mama and grandmother made... which I treasure so as they hold such precious memories... if anyone even has to ask why we love vintage doilies... then they would never understand... xoxo Julie Marie

Hi Bernideen,
I love all your doilies with such elements as strawberries, violets and roses. And the china set is beautiful, too. Another Lefton?
Best greetings, Johanna

I love this post- your Bavarian china, and that really awesome old doilie is wonderful!

So sorry to learn of your plight with blog- I have done that before and had to call my daughter to fix it. I got scolded as our roles were reversed. Haha. I didn't like that very much, so now won't change it, haha.

Have a blessed week!

Hi Bernideen,
I love lace doilies too and your Bavarian china is very pretty.
The recipe you asked about was in the January 1993 issue of Victoria.

Hello Bernideen
I have a number of vintage doilies but none are as exquisite as your strawberry one shown.

Hi Bernideen! What a lovely post today. I collect old doilies too and enjoy making them. I became fascinated by them when I was a little girl. I would sit at my grandma's feet and watch as she crocheted. I especially like the ones that have motifs designs like your strawberry doily. They are getting a little harder to find. Not too long ago, I came across one in an antique store that had crocheted pansies. It goes well with a pansy chinz tea pot that a friend had given me. You have a really beautiful blog. Have a wonderful monday afternoon! Delisa :)

Hello Bernideen,
I like vintage doilies too although I don't have any as pretty as your strawberry one. I love the chocolate set. It's gorgeous!
Thank you for joining me for tea today and for your friendship the past three years. I have learned a lot from you.
I really like your new header too, by the way. {I'm working on a new one myself.} Can't go wrong with bird houses and teapots!

Blessings,
Sandi

I love old doilies as well Bernideen. I guess because they are little works of art, and no one takes the time any more! Your setting compliments it beautifully! Love your photos as usual!

I have owned and/or made just about every sort of crocheted doily known to (wo)man, but I've never seen a strawberry one! What a unique find!

I have the same or similar doily, also love them, something else at auctions that has lost their appeal to the younger people, along with china. I have to say though with doilies, my favourites are the tatted ones, which is getting to be a lost art. Thank you for sharing, it all was beautiful. God bless

Your strawberry doily is lovely and unique. I still crochet doilies although not as many as in the past. My ambition, at one time, was to crochet a bedspread...what was I thinking???

I've been know to tinker with my blog as well, not always successfully in the short run, but things generally work out in the end. Thank goodness for Google searches!

You always have the most beautiful teasets and your doilys set them off so nicely! I like collecting them, too. I think they add a cozy nice touch to the table. Your new header is lovely!
