THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE COOKBOOK for "Open House"

Today is "Open House" which means bloggers are invited to link to a post about your lovely home, crafting, antiquing, design, perhaps something you baked - anything to do with your "home".

These photos are from the new cookbook which I noticed was labeled Volume I.......the Christmas Cottage Cookbook from Hoffman Publications (you know they publish Tea Time, Victoria, etc)

I finally got a chance to go page by page in this book and the photos are as we would expect - lovely.  I think the trend is toward simple, warm and friendly - but not the older "country clutter" look.

The subtitle lets us know this one is about decorations, "recipes and gifts for the holidays" and has many wonderful homespun ideas for crafting in the kitchen and craft room.  This little herb tray below caught my eye as winter is the time to bring some herbs inside the kitchen.

Two Christmas dinner recipes really caught my eye: A Seasonal Spinach Salad and also a recipe for Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Pearl Onions. Many wonderful recipes are included in this book.

I will be linking this post to: French Country Cottage and Friday at The Charm of Home and Show and Tell Friday and Simple and Sweet Fridays

Please join in the fun and link below to "Open House"! And please have a link back to this blog!

Love the idea of cottages and Christmas, so the two combined would have to be delightful.

Cookbook seems to be full of inspiration. I personally think that pictures in recipe books can often be as important as the recipe. I wish you a nice weekend! Zinnia
