OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES for "Open House"

Soon we will be pulling out all our Holiday decorations and putting away these fall tea sets and decorations.   Last night I made Oatmeal Raisin Cookies that made the kitchen smell wonderful so I am sharing this today for my "Open House" Blog Party and using my Maple Leaf Tea Set.  I decided to make bigger cookies rather than smaller ones.

I think that in the grand scheme of cookies - these might pass as more "healthy" ones:

Mix together these items in a large bowl:
1 Cup brown sugar, 3 cups oatmeal, 1 Tsp salt, 1 Tsp baking powder, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups flour, 1 Tsp baking soda

In another bowl mix together 1 cup melted butter, 1 Tsp vanilla and 2 eggs - combine with top ingredients and add 1 cup raisins.  Shape into a small ball and press down on cookie sheet.  Bake 8 - 12 minutes.  I made 16 larger ones - so it took 12 minutes. (less time for smaller)

Hi Bernideen, Your cookies look great, and your maple leaf tea set is really pretty and so autumnal! I love your new blog header, too, as well as the "music" of the birds.

YUMMM...those are my husband's favorite cookies! Spens and I attended an open house yesterday at a shop...we were sad, there weren't any treats and there weren't any sales! We wondered why it was "open house?" Wishing we could have attended yours! (SMILES)

Bernideen, I took your suggestion and added "herbs in the garden for cooking" to my header. THANKS for the suggestion -- it was brilliant!
