FRESH GREENERY for "Open House"

This year I decided to keep things simple and really inexpensive.....by using local fresh greenery,
pine cones and found items!  I have an old sled I pulled out from the garage, old ice skates and did some simple floral work....

Out in the greenbelt behind my house I had noticed some different evergreens and trimmed some branches off the bottoms being careful to not do any "ugly" trimming.

Metal frames for greenery wreaths only cost a couple dollars (mine was 99 cents) or less....

Store bought greenery wreaths are expensive - but inexpensive to make.  You need wire and I recommend using baling wire as it is very pliable but very strong.  I even used it for the pine cones. You can buy a large coil of it  at Home Depot.

The greenery I found on my early walk was added to Colorado Spruce from my backyard, California Pinecones from my shop and some dried hydrangeas my sister in law had given me from her home in Des Moines, Iowa almost 2 years ago.

I had also inserted pepperberries in the florals....

Today is "OPEN HOUSE"  which means that if you are a blogger, you are invited to link here at the bottom anything about your own HOME, DIY, CRAFTING, SEWING, PAPER CRAFTING, FLORALS, BAKING, COOKING.....on and on this list goes!!!

Hello Bernideen,
Your arrangements are just beautiful! I would love to be able to have those at my home but the wind would rip it all to shreds! We live in a very windy area and it really puts the dampers on doing anything like that outside unfortunately. Thank you for hosting and enjoy your weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Love your decorations, it seems we have all decided to go natural this year, and take advantage of nature's gifts.
Love the ice-skates on the wooden sled, I've been keeping a look-out for an old pair, they make a wonderfully festive accessory.

Nice job on your beautiful wreath! Greens are my favorite decor for Christmas. It makes so much sense to use what we already have. We all have so much!

What talent...thanks for sharing the tips on making your own wreaths...I will have to take a walk a little farther from home as our prairie doesn't grow very many pines!! (smiles). Just lovely. ~Donna
