TWO DESSERTS ARE BETTER THAN ONE FOR "OPEN HOUSE"

As you can see - I am posting Open House early today since I posted a day late last week.....

Last night I decided to bake and figured 2 desserts were BETTER THAN ONE!  We were definitely in the mood for dessert.  I am so glad it is starting to cool down and we can turn the oven on without fear of creating too much heat in the house.  One of my customers, Suzanne, had given me a nice zucchini and I am glad to say that my new refrigerator is keeping produce so much longer and fresher.

Do you have something to share about baking, decorating, antiquing, gardening, cooking, crafts or hospitality?  Please join your link at the bottom here and share your post with us!

And now for the dessert information:  you will find the recipe for the Bacardi Rum Cake here:

and the recipe for the Carrot and Zucchini Bars here:

Oh how yummy your desserts look! I just made a Coconut Pudding for my mother's luncheon tomorrow, so I will take a pic and post it too. I don't bake because I eat it all and I really watch my weight..it's a drag, I know. Thank you for hosting your fun party and for the recipes too.

I love going to events and getting what we call a 'poo-poo platter of desserts' a touch of this and that - I think my husband would love your desserts. I appreciate you hosting,

Love your dessert photos w/recipe, the Bee Hive Teapot w/matching sugar and creamer and the photo of the squirrel eating the nuts you graciously provided! ;-) After several attempts I finally succeeded in linking to your "Open House." Have a Happy Holiday weekend! Oh! I almost forgot... Congratulations on being featured in Romantic Homes magazine!

Carrot and Zuccini (Courgette) bars sound different. Carrot cake certainly popular here with a cheese frosting.
