Welcome to Open House! I hope you can join in this blog party with something you would like to share...could be lots of things: food, a recipe, a creative book to share, something you made or a bargain you purchased or something you created. Fall is coming - do you have a decorating idea to share or a table setting? If you are a blogger, just link up your post at the bottom.
This is my finished basket that greets you as you enter my garden:
The basket cost $6.00 on sale and the flowers were all from the backyard flower garden:
Probably one of the most common mistakes when doing this type of floral is too much length on the stems and overfilling the basket. A good rule to learn is 'NOTHING TOUCHING' - that is make sure each flower - for the most part- isn't touching the next. Also...make sure the stems don'g come out too far that you loose the shape of the basket.
And here's how it's done:
Purchase an inexpensive light colored rattan wall basket - these are the least expensive ones. Attach twigs to the top with wire and unwind some very small wreaths which are attached with wire to the bottom. Then spray paint all with white paint (or any color). Inside of the basket, place a white trash bag stapling the rolled edges to reduce the bulk and place soft (oasis) foam inside. This is where the water goes and will keep it from seeping out.
Have a terrific weekend!
