THE VIOLETS ARE BLOOMING - EVEN ON TEA SETS!

One of the first signs of spring is violets.  Yesterday we woke up to 2 1/2" of snow and it snowed a little more during the day in the higher elevation parts of the city -  but the violets didn't seem to mind...

I also love violets on teapots and teacups.  While out antiquing, I recently found three delicate Bavarian hand painted cups and saucers with violets and lily of the valley. At $8.00 each I was ready to pay up.

I pull out different teasets in my house according to the present season.  Good thing I have a basement with lots of shelving!

They are very translucent and light to hold. I wonder who painted these and when?

I hope you are having a wonderful springtime!  Here in the Rockies we need moisture, even if it is in the form of snow.

I will be linking this post to two other fun blog parties:

I love violets as well -- and have two sets -- one my mothers and the other bought at an Estate Sale -- the second is hand painted. I love violets (and pansies) both indoors and out -- a violet plant or two is always on the windowsill!!! And I just found the best liqueur -- creme de violette -- from Austria -- looks like grape Kool Aid -- tastes like flowers. Made sorbet out of it for my dinner party!

Hello Bernideen, I am belatedly visiting last week's posts - these past couple of weeks have been a mixture of bitter and sweet things - wayyyy too busy for the girl too. I just love finding wild violets in the garden - mostly in my husband's grass! So very lovely, I appreciate you faithfully sharing with A Return to Loveliness,
Kathy

I am glad you were so fortunate to find the beautiful violet teacups and saucers from Bavaria. The snow falling must be lovely and a glad you are receiving some needed moisture. We needed rain so much last year but thankfully our lakes are back to normal. Thanks for sharing your lovely tea set. Pam
