LAURA CHILDS' NEW TEA SHOP MYSTERY - AGONY OF THE LEAVES

This last Monday my mailman, Thomas, handed over a 6 x 9 envelope.  I opened the envelope from Minnesota and out popped an "Uncorrected Proof" of Laura Childs new tea murder mystery "Agony of The Leaves". I've never seen an uncorrected proof before and felt honored of course.  I thought - now she wants me to read it. "How can I let her down?"  Oh boy, I am so busy tying up all the loose ends of 2011 reports to take to our accountant so  Monday and Tuesday the book just sat behind the sales counter.

Wednesday was a very quiet day at the store, so I opened the book. This is #13 in her tea series. After a few pages I heard myself say out loud - "This is great - I mean, who wouldn't want to read this!"

Now it's Thursday night and the book has been read.  It was a fun read and what did I like best? The tea room day to day activities - Haley's menu's, that incredible team of Theodosia, Haley and Drayton.....not to mention the beloved dog, Earl Grey. Did I figure out who the murderer was?   ABSOLUTELY.........NOT!

IF YOU HAVE NEVER READ ANY OF HER TEA MURDER MYSTERIES - WINTER  IS THE PERFECT TIME!  Colorado is being slammed by snow - we have 9-10" at my house - maybe time to reread an older one?

LATE...LATE...NOTE:  Laura Child's has sent me a note that she will donate 2 hardcover copies in March 2012- even autograph them and send them to the winners of a drawing!  Leave your full name here if you would like to be entered.

Hello Bernideen
I think I started reading the Tea Shop Mysteries after you posted about them last year. They are a good read and I love hearing about the teas and food Haley whips up. Our daughters gave me an ereader as an early BD present since we're in Florida this month and the first thing I did was download 3 more of the series.
Now there'll be a new one to look forward to.
Cheers.

Hi Bernideen, Wow, you have a lot of snow! I'm sure it looks beautiful and makes you want to stay inside by the fire with a cup of tea and a good book. Enjoy, and remember, God made winter so that gardeners could rest! lol

Laura's books are great! I've enjoyed all of them and would love winning an autographed copy of her new book.

We've had an unusually warm winter here with very little snow. Makes me wonder what the summer will be like!
