CELEBRATING BEATRIX POTTER'S GARDEN

We are all so thrilled to find the Early Spring issue of Country Gardens with a special feature on Beatrix Potter's lovely country Lake District Garden, known as Hilltop Farm. You definitely will want a copy of this!

As many of you know, a few years back I began the process of turning my small backyard into a Beatrix Potter Tea Garden. This article is very informative regarding the types of flowers that Beatrix planted and her personal garden skills.

There is a list of her favorites and I find they are mine as well! I love the informal style framed by boxwoods.  I know that many of my customers and blogging friends have been to Hilltop Farm. I would love to visit!  My garden pictured below from 2011:

How very special !
Beatrix Potter is a lady I greatly admire, her love of nature and her artistic talents won me over years ago.
I never tire of seeing her homes, or watching her life story.
Your Beatrix Potter garden always makes me smile :)

Hi Bernideen,
I always adore your Beatrix Potter Garden. I think, she would have loved it, too.

I will have to check this out. When we went to England we were very close to Hilltop Farm but it was a bus tour and it was not part of our tour unfortunately.I love the movie and have watched it a few times.

Have a good weekend,
Carolyn

Hope I can find this tomorrow when I go to Fort Morgan. Otherwise, a call to Sarah will be in order and she'll have to look in Denver. Thanks for sharing. We need moisture, but my heart is longing for spring. Maybe we'll be blessed with rain instead of snow.♥♫

Beatrix Potter certainly knew how to steal the hearts of little girls with her stories and adorable animals.
Your BP garden is a nice tribute to her.

Love Beatrix Potter, almost as much as Tasha Tudor! How fun to have a garden. I have lots of BP little tea sets and items that I haven't put out for some time. You have inspired me to dig them out! Thanks for the head's up on the magazine.

Oh it looks like a lovely garden you have. I wish I could read the article, but it probably wont make its way to New Zealand.

Ha! There sat my magazine without me looking in it yet! I had to grab it immediatley and read the article. I took your lead and introduced characters that looked like they stepped out of a Beatrix Potter book and had tea parties with my daughter intrducing them. It has been fun!
