TEA IN THE GARDEN ON SATURDAY

I am so glad to be back for Tea in the Garden on Saturday and as usual my garden is a bit shadowy in the mornings....actually the steam was rising off the fences as the air was cool as the sun was rising.

I gladly accepted the assistance of my "maid" in setting things up.

We have had rain almost every day lately which is amazing and it is in the forecast for the next week.  The tourist aren't really thrilled about that but they love our cool nights in the 65-70 degree range.

I hope you are enjoying your summer with tea because it is passing by quickly!

Peter Rabbit wouldn't miss my tea for anything and always loves to show off his prize winning cabbages that are forming nicely - well maybe the one in the front has a few holes in it from "someone".

I wish you a lovely tea filled weekend!

If you have created a special post with tea in your garden, sun porch, deck or patio....please join me by linking below!

A NEW TEAPOT FOR THE COLLECTION

I am of the opinion that a girl can never have too many teapots! I know ladies that have over 100 in fact!  I just couldn't resist bringing home one of these yellow chintz teapots to put together with some mix and match cups and saucers.......

As I have shared in the past, I am a fan of mixing and matching and my home reflects that.  It really is a good thing because this teapot doesn't come with cups and saucers in the first place!

When my grandmother was living, she gave me the antique pink bowl which I have filled with potpourri. Late note:  I sold many of these Bavarian cups and saucers and plates at my shop!

Some real dried peonies sit on top the potpourri and add to the lovely smell....

I hope you find some great tea time treasurers this summer!

BACK TO COOLER COLORADO

After spending a week in Columbia, Missouri I am getting back into the swing of things. I have been playing catch up here and the photos above are reflections.  My granddaughter is learning to play the violin, my grandson plays the mandolin, his mother plays the fiddle and my son (not pictured) plays the banjo. I really enjoyed hearing them play!

I took these photos of lotus at the pond where my grandchildren attend Country Day Camp. They were so beautiful!

I got to meet a fellow blogger on my trip......on the way home, I met Martha from Lines From Linderhof  off I-70 in Liberty, Kansas.  This was such an honor.  Please visit her blog and enjoy her wonderful recipes, decorating tips and traditional style.  She has many ideas to share regarding hospitality and shares her home and antiques.  Martha blessed me with a goody bag of "sunflower" cookies she had baked with the cookie cutter tucked inside with some darling fresh lavender creations she designed!

I also had a surprise waiting from Linda at Friendship Tea because I won her Giveaway!  A lovely box of goodies was a real treat and included a Glass Teapot with a candle in it, a key chain shaped like a teapot with a measuring tape inside, some Harney Pomegranite Oolong Tea, a set of tea towels and a lovely devotional with tea themes.  I FEEL SO SPOILED!

I hope you summer is going well and you have time to get away from whatever your daily routine is! I hope you can join me this Saturday for "Tea in the Garden on Saturday" as I will be back in the swing of things!

GOD'S GARDEN OF BABY BREATH!

"The kiss of the sun for pardon
The song of the birds For mirth
One is nearer God's heart
In a garden"      (unknown)

Very near my home are fields and fields of wild Baby's Breath - they are huge - every year they arrive and look like mounds of white!

I wanted to take more photos but my camera battery suddenly shut down!

Each plant is over 4 foot across.....

I won't be posting for a week or so  - am driving right now across Kansas to see my family in Missouri: Son and Daughter-in-Law and grandkids Pete and Lily !  I won't be doing "Tea in the Garden on Saturday on July 23rd but will resume on July 30th!  See you when I get back!  PLEASE VISIT!

TEA IN THE GARDEN

Welcome to Tea in the Garden ....

I love having you join me this morning for a tea in my garden honoring Beatrix Potter.  Lately I have been enjoying reviewing my older issues of Victoria and especially this August 1988 issue which featured Beatrix and Hilltop Farm....come sit a little while in the morning shadows of my garden and remember Beatrix.....

We had our usual July wild hail storm this week so the garden got a little shredded....

I have set up a little Peter Rabbit Tea Table for us with all of Beatrix Potter's "friends".  I also have about 6 squirrel friends running about here this morning begging  for nuts...   Have you seen the movie "Miss Potter"- you would love it! I also enjoyed reading "Miss Potter's Journal" which I also have out this morning.

I know that many of you have the older issues of Victoria and enjoy them - this issue was the first "regular monthly" publication as at first Victoria was only published quarterly.....

Below you see the journal I spoke of and an out of print book I love "At Home with Beatrix Potter".

I know many of you have had the delight of visiting Hilltop Farm and many of my customers have been there.

If you have posted a special Tea in The Garden On Saturday, please link up at the bottom and join the celebration!  We all want to see what you have planned on your porch, patio or in your garden!                  (no unrelated posts please)
