MARTHA'S ENGLISH WHIPPING CREAM SCONES

I follow a number of other bloggers.  You see, blogging isn't just about what each of us has to say or to contribute - it is about learning from others and sharing ideas, visual photos which inspire and thoughts! I think it is both giving and receiving!
Today I am featuring Martha from Lines at Linderhof and especially the recipe she recently brought back after spending a month in England.  I would love to go to England.  In fact, I have had  many people lately in my shop who are visiting the United States - but from England.  I love chatting with them.  Many bloggers have been there- multiple times in fact.  If you would like to visit Martha's blog, you can follow her on that journey by reading her posts from June.

Here is her recipe at her blog: http://www.linesfromlinderhof.com/2011/06/tea-cream-tea.html

Last night I finally made Martha's Scone Recipe! I am sorry that I did not have even 1 egg in the refrigerator so I did not brush the tops with the egg yolk and water mixture...

I did have some l lovely lemon curd on hand!  I believe I have tried about 15 - 20 different scones recipes now and enjoy each one....how many have you tried?

BERNIDEEN SAYS: IS IT THE TEA WE LOVE THE MOST?

I never tire when the topic is tea......

Is it the taste of the tea we love the most or the shape of the teapot?  Perhaps it is the setting itself - in the garden or at the table?  All those accouterments are so lovely - perhaps those are our fancy!

I hope you will take time this summer to enjoy the aspect of tea that makes you the most happy!  Perhaps learning more about the different types of tea?  Do you love this?  Why not go out and find some new teapots in a local antique mall or garage sale?

Have a lovely tea filled day!  And take time to link to Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage    and    Kathy at A Delightsome Life

TEA IN THE GARDEN ON SATURDAY

Welcome to Tea in the Garden on Saturday and I hope this Saturday is a wonderful one for you and full of pleasant summertime experiences!  This is a time to enjoy the season, enjoy the smells and enjoy the taste of the harvest! Also, a time for tea in the garden!

Please join me by link up below if you have a special Tea Post today in your Garden, Patio or Porch!  I would love to have you!

I went out early this morning and set up a table for the pleasure of tea!  As the birds and squirrels came and went the yard was full of morning sounds.

Time began in a garden.....

This tea set is Roses and Ivy - English Bone China by Crownford. I was very sorry when this importer closed many years ago as I loved their china pieces.  These decals are still very much in use by many companies.

If you don't have time today....join me next Saturday by having tea in your garden.....

Have a lovely weekend...

SAVORING SUMMER WITH A STRAWBERRY TEA

Today I was planning an outdoor picnic table tea but it is raining cats and dogs here - actually, we have had little rain so this is a good thing.  The fire danger is up very high and there is a fire down in Westcliff so I hope this helps!

I did want to share this fat little robin who jumped out of his nest and was sitting on some branches my husband had cut out of our front yard tree.  He wasn't quite ready to fly away yet....

I set up a lovely tea for you on my kitchen buffet and I hope you like strawberry tea...

If you are fortunate enough to have any "pick your own" places in your area of the country they are probably in season now- if not, there is always the farmers market and grocery!

I have some loose black tea with little pieces of dried strawberries in it...the smell is so lovely and it makes a wonderful pot of tea!  With all the problems in the world now - I suggest you take time everyday for a cup of tea and a moment of relaxation!

Today I am participating with Kathy at A Delightsome Life
and joining in with others to SAVOR SUMMER.  Please go visit them all!  I am also joining The Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday where you will have a lovely time!

Please help yourself to tea and cake and sit a while to relax!

TEA IN THE GARDEN ON SATURDAY

Welcome to Tea in the Garden on Saturday...you must come and sit a while in my backyard garden....I have set up a little table for you over by the blooming clematis....

I have my crochet bedspread on the table and some mix and match china.....I love those old crochet bedspreads.  Have you ever passed something up in an antique mall - only later to deeply regret it?  I'm sure you have and so have I!  I once saw one like this with pansies and when I went back - well you know.....

If you would like to post something about tea in your own garden, patio, or sun porch...please link up at the bottom of this page!
I have a pot of tea ready for you and you may pick your chair!

.

Some of you remember when I cut up my grandmother's pillowcases and some old table cloths and made 24 sets of chair covers for a tea I had last summer.  I chose these 4 today to use.  You could make some of these too!

Early in the morning the sun comes from the east and casts shadows all across my back yard....

I invite anyone who would like to share tea in your garden, patio or porch to link up today below!
