A RIDE BY GARDEN OF THE GODS AND MANITOU SPRINGS

Yesterday my husband and I took a ride around Garden of the Gods where there are unique rock formations and around Manitou Springs which is 2 miles down the road from Old Colorado City!

It was such a beautiful day and there were many
 tourist out and about:

The castle above is Miramont Castle and has
The Queen's Parlor Tea Room:

You can also have tea at the Cliff House Bed and Breakfast below. When I moved to Colorado Springs 17 years ago, it was all boarded up in great disrepair and neglect.  Nine million dollars later, it is lovely!

This home in Manitou has extensive work being done on it right now:

Nearby at Garden of the Gods (named by the Indians) there are many rock formations.

You can just barely see the Kissing Camels to the left below.....

Definitely, watch out for rattlesnakes!

And don't sit on this!

Time to go home.......

Hi Bernideen,
that was a lovely tour. Amazing landscape! I am always off by the huge dimensions of your country. Really impressive. Thank you for taking us on tour.
Best greetings, Johanna

Wow! what an amazing place. Stunning pics. You have to understand that coming from England the sheer size of the place blows me away! And beautiful buildings too. Thanks for sharing

Aww, your photos bring back so many good memories, I see Pikes Peak has snow on the cap today, and Garden of the Gods is where we used to spend our Sundays pickniking and watching the rock climbers...
Manitou Springs is a magical place, I used to sell antiques there, and loved the whole art and craft community, a place where the hippies hung out :)
Thank you for sharing your spectacular pictures with us.

Loved your tour... stunning photographs! My parents took us on a cross country trip when I was 13 and we all loved the kissing camels! Yikes... too many years have gone by since them... here's hoping I get back to Colorado some day!

Thanks for the tour. Very much appreciated, as it's probably the only way I will get to see the USA.
