ROSE VINTAGE TABLECLOTH INSPIRATION

Sunday afternoon my husband and I drove up to Denver and went to some antique malls and shops we hadn't been to for over ten years.....I found this lovely old 50's vintage tablecloth with roses which spoke to my heart. I have always loved "old things".

We spent 2 1/2 hours in one of the antique malls and I thought I was in heaven.....isn't that silly?

Did you ever see something in an antique mall that you owned as a child?  That is a weird feeling isn't it!

Roses stand for love although different kinds of roses can have many different meanings.....you can look up the meaning of each flower in The Language of Flowers. The Victorians were really into the meaning of flowers and each flower was chosen very carefully to send a message to the recipient.

The smell of the herbs here is just wonderful beside this bench - especially the basil and dill.

Today I am joining Kathy at A Delightsome Life and also Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday

I adore vintage table cloths and this one is perfect with your beautiful rose tea china. I do feel strange when I see something in an antiques mall that I had or remember as a child. Ack! :D :D :D Happy Tea Day!

Lovely, Bernideen! I am always drawn to children's tea sets and chairs for some reason. Love old lace table cloths too. Yours is wonderful and a lovely backdrop for your pretty rose inspired tea things. I like putting spoons into my swan too. Thanks for joining me for tea and have a delightful week.

Blessings,
Sandi

HI BERNIDEEN,
I LOVE GOING TO ANTIQUE MALLS. WE HAVE QUITE A LARGE ONE IN RED BANK, NEW JERSEY. WHEN MY SISTER CAROLINE AND HER DAUGHTER KAREN CAME TO VISIT ME, WE WOULD ALL GO SHOPPING AT THE ANTIQUE MALL, AND THEN OUT TO LUNCH.
I LOVE YOUR TABLECLOTH, IT GOES SO NICE WITH YOUR ROSE TEA SET. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN, WHEN I WAS 11 YEARS OLD I GOT A JERRY MAHONEY DOLL (PAUL WINCHELL AND JERRY MAHONEY) FOR CHRISTMAS, I REMEMBER SEEING ONE AT THE ANTIQUE MALL (WHICH HAD 5 FLOORS WALK-UP) IT DID BRING BACK LOTS OF MEMORIES. TAKE CARE, RIZZI

Looooove that tablecloth! The roses are so soft and pretty. Kind of reminds me of the vintage Lord and Taylor packaging with the pretty, elegant rose on it. And yes, I could absolutely spend hours in a good antique mall and thoroughly enjoy it. Glad you got some time to enjoy doing this. I also love how so many of your teawares blend perfectly with the tablecloth!
