COLLECTING ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED VIOLET PLATES

On a recent trip as I crossed Kansas I was able to take just a few minutes to run into an antique mall in one of the many smaller towns that dot Kansas.  I love small towns and they often contain many treasurers.  I found a couple of hand painted plates that I could add to my collection of "violet" themed lovelies!

So many of these older plates come from Bavaria.

The one below had white roses and violets.

Each plate has joined my dining room wall collection .

I probably have to many plates on my walls - I am not sure why I love them so!  In other rooms I enjoy plates with roses as well!

Today I am linking with Kathy at A Delightsome Life for a Return to Loveliness and also Tea Time Tuesday with Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage and I hope you will visit them both!

Hello Bernideen,
both plates are overwhelming charming. Violets are such a sweet design. You always find the best treasures with pansys and violets. They make a pretty wall adornment. How old may they are? Probably around 1900. What do you think? Thank you for sharing this wonderful post.
Best greetings, Johanna

Your violet plates are so pretty! My mother collected violets plates, teacups, saucers, and teapots. I have them now --- and they make such a beautiful grouping on my vintage cabinet shelves. Love them! Yours are beautiful!

Lovely, lovely violet plates. I have violet cups and saucers of my mother's and I also have another hand painted tea set (cups, plates, saucers) that I got at an estate sale. I have a "thing" for violets, too!!!

I love your plates!

Those are absolutely lovely! I love the hand painted plates as well and your violets are gorgeous! Plates are such a wonderful wall accent...and you can take them down and use them at tea! How cool (and resourceful) is that!

Hello Bernideen,
I am getting ready to leave on our trip but wanted to stop by and see what you were offering for tea. What charming plates! I love seeing plates hanging on the wall. They really do add a touch of beauty and refinement to one's home. I have long been a red and pink collector but I'm being drawn to purples lately. Not sure why but I find myself oohhing and aahhing over violets and pansies more than ever. Thanks for sharing and have a delightful rest of the week.

Blessings,
Sandi
