TEA TIME TREASURES FROM JAPAN

I have always been attracted to the whimsical colors of Japanese Lusterware and Japanese hand painted pieces.  I just found a few new pieces at an antique mall nearby....the ones sitting on the cake stand are new to me.

The little birdie just makes me smile!

Today is Tea Time Tuesday with Sandi on Prince Edward Island and I hope you can visit the participants!  I also love linking to Kathy at A Delightsome Life

I have passed many wonderful yard sales by on my way to work this summer -  have you found some treasures lately?

This plate below was also a new treasure - English Chintz!
 And only $4.00!

I REMEMBER MY MOTHER HAD THE JAPANESE TEAPOT, AND A FEW CUPS AND SAUCERS THE ONE LIKE YOUR SUGAR BOWL. BLUE AND LIGHT TAN, WITH THE BLOSSOMS AND BIRDS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPEN TO THE SET, THERE WERE SEVEN CHILDREN IN THE FAMILY, SO ANYONE COULD HAVE THEM. I LOVE YOUR NEW BUYS, THEY ARE ALL LOVELY. YOUR MUSIC IS LOVELY TODAY. RIZZI

Wow, that chintz was a real find! And I like your new Japanese pieces as well. I think I saw some of those in Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazine some years ago and found them just charming!

Ooo and ahhh over that chintz plate! What a deal! Now I just want to hit the yard sales thinking there's treasure out there for me this weekend! But, I spent too much at the garden shop today - new tea things in upcoming posts - and I shall have to hold my purse!
Joy!
