MIXING AND MATCHING THE TABLE FOR TEA

We are so happy to have summer finally here - to be able to open windows and smell the garden scents blowing in the breeze.  I don't want to take a lovely green lawn for granted.  This morning I decided to set the dining room table with random this and that!  I do hope you will join Saturday for Tea in the Garden!

I have often commented on this blog about my love for mixing and matching things. I didn't have time this morning to get out the silverware...you will have to use your imagination. We all have one of those!  I love old linens and old things.  I have no idea why!

Like most of us - I have things from China but of course prefer ENGLISH BONE CHINA and really prefer ANTIQUE PIECES....

ONE OF THESE DAYS, I am going to get my courage up and start painting some of my antique furniture!

Part of the problem is simple - when you were the one that stripped an old piece and did all that labor - you never forget the work it was - it is easier to tackle something and change it that you haven't already worked on!

My grandmother gave me the yellow depression glass above.....

Late note:  looking back at this post, I have sold so many of these dishes.

Today I am linking to A Delightsome Life with Kathy and Tea Time Tuesday with Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage

Gorgeous Table you have created!
Gorgeous!!!!
I like the old linen, lace, table clothes and dishes as well.
A little nostalgia in present day.

The doily over the white cake stand that the tea pot is sitting on is really pretty.

Sweet blessings,
d

I'm in love with the idea of elevating the tea pots upon cake stands. I'll have to remember that at our ACS tea in October. Thanks.

Hello Bernideen,
your tea tables are always great. You own so many wonderful china and find always the matching partners. But I am always amazed by your doilies. Would love to see that pattern closer.
And sure I will join your tea time in the garden this week.
Best greetings, Johanna
