HOLIDAY INSPIRATION FROM OLDER VICTORIA BOOKS

This week I have been drifting through many favorite books looking for ideas for the holidays....especially baking and cooking ideas and it has created a renewed interest in making an OLDE ENGLISH DINNER FOR THE HOLIDAYS...you know, Plum Pudding, Goose - that sort of thing!  Well, maybe not a "goose" for me! These are two of the old Victoria books I have turned to:

I especially love the 1992 edition of
The Heart of Christmas and early on copied the idea of putting a Victorian cruet set on my mantle....

The 1997 edition (right) is also lovely!  I have a stack of other books on the kitchen table right now as well...waiting for more inspiration and pages to be turned!

I don't think I realized there were two editions. I know I have one of them, I think the earlier one. Now I'll have to go and check.

Hi Bernideen...I love going through the old Victoria books. I have A Woman's Christmas and Christmas With Victoria out by my reading chair to look through with afternoon tea. So soothing and inspirational!
Lovely post as usual.

I love going through my collection of Christmas books and magazines and picking out recipes to try.

The Victoria books are especially nice.
