THE SONO BAKING COMPANY COOKBOOK

I am just getting around to opening the pages of some new 2010 cookbooks I stacked on the kitchen table earlier this summer!  I will be reviewing some in the coming days but this morning I took a peek inside THE SONO BAKING COMPANY COOKBOOK.   John Barricelli, host of PBS's "Everyday Baking From Everyday Food",  has presented a fabulously helpful cookbook.  Afternoon Tea Lover's will want this wonderful book loaded with great photos and instructions and potention Afternoon Tea Treats!

Downloading these photos also reminds me of the relatively simple project I did this weekend which was to take this formerly rectangular tablecloth and cut off some of the end fabric to sew on the side so it would fit my antique square kitchen table for a fall tablesetting!

If you are a perfectionist this might not work for you! The squares aren't exactly matching. I didn't have a lot of fabric to waste so I wasn't trying to line them up knowing on the side of the table who would notice?

The former size was too narrow but also too long! You can see the side addition here......now back to the cookbook....

as you can see the chapters here would be very helpful for recipes for your Tea Party!  A third generation baker, John covers it all!

and while I'm obviously talking about two things at once....I had enough fabric left over for 4 small napkins but couldn't resist putting these old embroidered ones in the center of my table!

Apple Cranberry Crostata.....now doesn't that sound yummy - yes - the recipe is on page 110!  Could you handle this Raspberry Coconut Trifle?  Delicious....

Bernideen, Your kitchen table and chairs are lovely and I like how you adapted your tablecloth. It looks so very "autumn." The raspberry coconut trifle looks fabulous. Let me know when you get it made and I'll be right over!

Hi Bernideen
The tablecloth has a pretty pattern with the leaves and the crocheted napkins look nice on the table.

I love your solution to the tablecloth not fitting the table! Smart woman!! And I realy love those embroidered napkins! Yum, that trifle looks amazing. I love making that for company, because it looks so complicated, and it's not. :-) Our secret! I hope you have a chance to stop by my blog sometime this week, as I am having a little giveaway.

Hi Bernideen,
Great idea to chance the size of the tablecloth that way. It looks as if it was designed so. Really clever. I like the soft fall colors on your table. Would like to have a look at this nice cookbook.
Greetings, Johanna
