Cookbook Review - Betty Crocker Cookbook - New Edition

Today I want to recommend a great cookbook for brides to be and  anybody who is learning to cook....

When I got married almost 42 years ago my mother-in-law gave me the McCalls Cookbook (which I still use).  It is a good basic cookbook.   I recently purchased this Betty Crocker cookbook and thought it would be perfect for a bride to be. It has a ring binder with tabs covering all manner of information. Unless you grew up with a parent who had unique gourmet chef abilities - this is where you need to start.  In fact, the first chapter is called "Getting Started".

When I moved out on my own (I was 20, now I'm 50) my big brother gave me the then-current Betty Crocker cookbook. I still have and regularly use my old BC cookbook today. It's lost its front cover but has many good, basic recipes...Quiche Lorraine, Hollandaise Sauce, macaroni and cheese, etc. I won't let it die - one of these days I'm gonna get a 3-hole punch and put the pages in a notebook. Your new book would be a great gift to any one starting out.

HELLO BERNIDEEN,
MY OH MY, DOES THIS BRING BACK MEMORIES. MY MOM GAVE ME THE BETTY CROCKER COOKBOOK AT MY BRIDAL SHOWER. MY COOKBOOK IS 49 YEARS OLD, AND I STILL HAVE IT. I GAVE MY DAUGHTER (JACKIE) MY MOTHER'S ORIGINAL BETTY CROCKER COOKBOOK. WHAT SPECIAL MEMORIES THEY HOLD. THANK YOU FOR SUCH A NICE POST.
