Decorating for Christmas #3

Back in the l970's I cut up an old antique quilt to make stockings for my family.  The quilt was handmade and perfect for this project. If you have an old family piece in poor condition this is a nice way to use it and pass it down in your family!

Welcome to Bernideen's Tea Time Blog!

First I sewed the stockings and then I did embellishements on them.

I love the way you decorate. In my house, Christmas is about the only time I can get away with a lot of whimsy. :)

LOVE the stockings. When my daughter was around high school age, I had a beautiful and favorite dark green wool coat. When it finally became tattered, I cut it into a Christmas stocking for her and sewed on lace from my wedding veil, it was so Victorian.

I think I still have a couple sections of that coat in the cedar chest.

Great pictures.
