Getting Ready for a Garden Tea Party #2 Tableware

Tea Time Tableware:

For some time I have been saving the items I need for groups of 24 ladies so this is what I plan to use for the first time for my Garden Tea Party. I started collecting these slowly on a shelf in my basement over 2 years ago until I had enough for such a large group. Most of these are from China and NOT heirlooms or antiques. (some of the plates are English)

24 cups and saucers and 24 dessert plates

Then 2 ladies will share each of the following items which means I needed 12 of each:

12 teapots in various "blending" colors
12 3-tier afternoon tea trays
12 swan dishes for clotted cream
12 other dishes for lemon curd

Also: 24 dessert forks, 24 jam spreaders and 12 each smaller "tea" spoons for the curd and cream

Stay tuned to this blog for more ideas to get ready for a larger type tea party! My sewing project is in full swing - but I'd rather be out in my garden! Lots of sewing to do!

Thanks for sharing all your preparations for the party. Looking forward to seeing how the sewing project turns out and what your menu plans are.

The purple flowers are lovely. What are the tall ones in the first picture?

Those are delphiniums which are perenials and will come up again - a better financial investment! Bernideen
