ANTIQUE SILVERPLATE CELEBRATES WITH CUPIDS

Today I am doing a repost from  2009 because I have been working on some projects.  Some years ago, I noticed the lovely cupid motifs on some of my Victorian era silver plate pieces!

Cupid motifs often appeared on Victorian silver plate pieces.  This lovely cruet set above bears a ring of cupids all around it!

Victorian Teapots had beautiful engravings and motifs of all kinds...Since this teapot is silverplate -  yes you have to polish occasionally.

Cupids all around the teapot...the same ones as on the cruet set...both from New Haven, Connecticut's famous Roger Smith, Co.

Dear Bernideen- I love this tea pot! I have a small Victorian silver pot (not as many engravings as yours) but mine has a small inlay of Ivory on the handle. When I had it appraised, the dealer said "the ivory inlaid work is very rare." My teapot is more for decoration than daily use.

And I love your website -it's just beautiful.

We could use your store here in Newnan, Georgia - Thanks for this nice website. Please enter me in your contest:
